A physical examination, including a careful evaluation of your facial features is conducted before surgery. Photographs of your face from various angles are taken. Also, prior to surgery, Dr. Stevens will discuss the type of anesthesia to be used during the procedure as well as possible risks and complications. Preoperative instructions may include the elimination of certain drugs containing aspirin in order to reduce the possibility of any excess bleeding. Antibiotics may be prescribed prior to surgery to prevent infection. Following preoperative instructions is vitally important so that you are assured of the safest operation with optimal results.
